Water is the lifeblood of our planet, but do we truly understand where it comes from and how our actions impact its future? In this course, we will explore the sources of our freshwater, the challenges posed by climate change, and the growing demands of water consumption. From natural water cycles to human-made infrastructures, we will explore how water reaches our homes, farms and industries - especially in our region. The course will also tackle the increasing pressure on global water supplies due to climate change, and how shifts in temperature and weather patterns affect ecosystems, communities, and economies.
We will meet four times in the classroom to learn about this important topic and to work with interesting materials. We want to focus on a lively discussion. On one of the five meetings we will have a walk-and-talk excusion to the river Rhine.
To benefit most of this course offer, your level of English should be on an upper-intermediate level (B1/ B2).
